Summa Akron City Hospital, part of Summa Health System, was founded in 1892 in Akron, Ohio, United States. From the first accredited radiology department in the country to the first adult open heart surgery in Akron (and one of the first in the country), Summa Akron City Hospital has achieved national recognition as a healthcare provider.
Summa Akron City Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a Certified Chest Pain Center and a Certified Stroke Center. Its obstetrics care is nationally recognized for quality.
The hospital received national attention during the 2015 NBA Finals because both LeBron James and Stephen Curry were born there.
